Surely the Prince and Princess of Wales can’t have anything in common with Kim Kardashian and Olivia Rodrigo? Well, apart from bundles of money, yes, they do – they’ve all been papped supping a glass of Guinness, the Irish dry stout that is believed to have many health properties – antioxidants, vitamin B and life-affirming merriment among them.

A brewhouse has stood on this Mercer Street site since the 1700s and it’s recently undergone a £73 million transformation to turn it Guinness Open Gate Brewery London – a working microbrewery complete with a visitor experience, guided tours, restaurants and bars where you can sample rotating, limited-edition brews, including seasonal and low-alcohol varieties.

As well as interactive areas showcasing Guinness’ venerable heritage, you can pour your own pint in the 232 Bar. Mop it all up afterwards in one of the historic brewery’s two restaurants: the rooftop spot, Gilroy’s Loft – a stunning rooftop restaurant with skyline views across London or the farm-to-fork Porter’s Table.

Visitors can also enjoy the atmosphere of the courtyard bar at the heart of the site – Old Brewer’s Yard – serving Chef Calum Franklin’s handmade pies alongside the exclusive craft beers brewed on site.

In addition to good food and great Guinness, the site has been fitted with iconic installations and murals designed by artist, Mason London, which bring Guinness’ brewing legacy at the site to life, alongside iconography from the brand’s historical advertising pulled from the Dublin archives.

And if that’s not enough, you can do a spot of shopping too – at The Store and Guinness Good Things – offering Guinness branded merchandise, gifts and more, as well as the limited-edition streetwear collaboration with Lazy Oaf, available exclusively from Guinness Good Things to mark the opening.

Cheers!
