Easter in London isn’t just a long weekend – it’s a full season of fun, outdoor adventures and springtime discoveries across the city. From egg hunts and animal encounters to art trails and park outings, the capital comes alive for everyone this April and early May, as Lisa Hylton reports.

For family fun with a chocolate twist, head to Hampton Court Palace for The Lindt GOLD BUNNY Hunt (to 12 Apr). Set among the royal gardens, this self-led trail gives kids and adults alike the thrill of spotting golden bunnies hidden among spring blooms as well as learning stories about the people who shaped the palace’s history. Match the names of these influential characters to the distinctive red ribbons adorning every adorable bunny statue and you’ll be rewarded with a treat at the end.

Nature lovers and animal fans should not miss London Zoos Zoonormous Egg Hunt! (to 12 Apr), where giant Easter eggs are tucked
away across the zoo. Each discovery reveals a secret letter and a riddle to solve, making animal spotting and wildlife wonder part of the Easter adventure. Solve all six puzzles before claiming a chocolate prize and celebrate completing the trail. Young explorers can also
take part in a creative arts and crafts activity, decorating their own Easter Bunny crown inspired by the Zoological Society of London’s
200 years of wildlife science and conservation. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the Easter holidays in London, with fun hands-on activities and
outdoor exploration for the whole family.

Finally, for a springtime outdoor experience that lasts well beyond Easter, the Gozzle Trail at WWT London Wetland Centre in Barnes
awaits (to 31 May). Inspired by Julia Donaldson and Sara Ogilvie’s charming picture book, kids and their families can follow Gozzle the gosling on an interactive trip through the wetlands. Little explorers can discover what it takes for the tiny gosling to become a grown-up goose, searching for 15 hidden mini Gozzles along the route. With wildlife clues, playful challenges and plenty of fresh air, it’s an adventurous way to discover nature together this spring.

Plan for bank holiday crowds and book tickets where needed, then savour the longer days, blossoming parks and a capital that truly celebrates spring.
