This season, a new immersive experience arrives in London, inviting audiences to step inside the anarchic, joyful worlds of Aardman’s most beloved characters.
Larger Than Life: Starring Wallace & Gromit, Shaun and More transforms Lightroom into a spectacular celebration of 50 years of British animation, bringing together iconic cinematic moments, archival treasures and bespoke new animation created especially for the show.
From the kitchen table where school friends Peter Lord and David Sproxton first began experimenting, to the unforgettable characters of Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Creature Comforts, the immersive show traces Aardman’s journey from a spark of childhood imagination to a globally celebrated animation studio.

Projected across Lightroom’s four 11-metre-high walls and expansive floor, Larger Than Life brings Aardman’s distinctive storytelling to an extraordinary scale.
From the first ‘scrap-paper pitch’ to the finished film, visitors discover how Aardman’s characters are brought to life. Towering sets, intricate miniature props and hand-crafted puppets reveal the extraordinary detail behind every frame.
Through this glimpse into the creative process, Larger Than Life celebrates the human touch at the heart of Aardman’s films, where countless tiny movements combine to create characters that feel unmistakably alive.

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of four-time Oscar-winning studio Aardman, Larger Than Life is made in close collaboration with the studio’s production team.
Combining Aardman’s rich creative heritage with Lightroom’s cutting-edge technology, the show offers a new way to experience some of Britain’s most enduring animated characters.
Visitors are free to explore the space, take in the projections from different perspectives and immerse themselves in Aardman’s worlds. The 50-minute looping experience brings together the spectacle of cinema and celebrates the characters, stories and creativity that have captivated audiences for generations.
