Mousetrap Musical

As the nights draw in and the air turns crisp, there’s no better time to step into the warmth and wonder of the theatre. Theatre offers an escape from the ordinary, with no two performances ever being the same.

Laugh, cry and be swept away by the stories being told live on stage and what better place to experience theatre than in London.

London is the theatre capital of the world, with the tradition running since the 17th century. With record-breaking plays such as The Mousetrap, the genre-defying murder mystery that has kept the West End asking whodunnit for over 73 years, to smash-hit musicals like Les Misérables, which has been performed over 15.5k times in the West End.

Whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth, London theatre offers something truly unique, a memory that stays with you long after the final bow.

What show should I see?

If you’re looking for star casting, then September brings some big new openings with some well-known names. The Lady From The Sea, a thrilling dissection of desire, loss and rebirth for the contemporary age starts on the 9 Sep with Oscar winner Alicia Vikander (The Danish Girl, Ex Machina) and Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually, The Walking Dead). From the 11 Sep, Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees Of Inisherin, Harry Potter, Paddington 2) stars as Jack in what promises to be a definitive production of the celebrated modern classic, The Weir. With a strictly limited season from the 17 Sep, Joe Locke (Heartstopper, Agatha All Along) stars in a stunning new production of Clarkston, an emotionally intimate play written by Samuel D. Hunter (The Whale).

The Weir

Perhaps you’re looking for a West End favourite, why not see some Olivier Award-winning theatre such as Back To The Future – The Musical, The Book Of Mormon, Cabaret or the most recent Best New Musical winner, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, which must end 11 October.
