The National Portrait Gallery

The National Portrait Gallery remains closed for refurbishment. Expected to reopen in 2023.

One of the nation’s most prominent galleries, the collection tells the story of Britain through portraits. It is the world’s greatest collection of portraits which spans six centuries.

To 16 February 2025:Taylor Wessing: Photo Portrait Prize 2024.

20 February-18 May 2025: The Face Magazine: Culture Shift.

13 March-15 June 2025: Edvard Munch Portraits.

20 June-7 September 2025: Jenny Saville: The Anatomy of Painting.

10 July-12 October 2025: Herbert Smith Freehills Portrait Award 2025.

9 October 2025-11 January 2026: Cecil Beaton’s Fashionable World.

13 November 2025-8 February 2026: Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize 2025

 

Sunday to Thursday: Last entry is at 17.30.
Friday to Saturday:
 Last entry is at 20.30.

Please note: last entry to exhibitions is 1 hour before closing time. The Gallery will begin closing ten minutes before the stated closing time.
