Discover the amazing heritage of one of the most respected legislatures in the world. Book a tour of the Palace of Westminster, home of the UK Parliament, this winter and choose between a guided tour delivered by an expert guide or go at your own pace using an audio guide.
Spanning over 900 years of history, from the Anglo-Saxons to the present day, both tours include a visit to the Chambers of the House of Commons and the House of Lords, where laws have been made and scrutinised for centuries. You will follow in the footsteps of the monarch at State Opening, take in the ornate decor of the Royal Gallery, and explore medieval Westminster Hall with its connections to Guy Fawkes and King Charles I. Don’t forget to take a moment to soak up the atmosphere within Central Lobby which serves as the meeting point for members of both houses and is the scene of many TV news broadcasts.
Depending on availability, you can choose to join a guided tour or a self-guided audio tour.
The guided tour is led by an expert guide who will explain what happens at UK Parliament, today as well as the fascinating history of the buildings.
Alternatively, the self-guided audio tour is available in 10 languages and is a good option for those wanting to discover the heart of UK politics at their own pace. For those visiting with young families, there is a version which includes interactive games and engaging content aimed at children up to age 11.
Round off your visit with a trip to the Jubilee Shop where you will discover a range of gifts and souvenirs and the Jubilee Café which offers an array of tempting treats!
