March in London is a sporting spectacle, with the Carabao Cup Final at Wembley, Premier League action across the capital, and UFC London bringing fight-night excitement to The O2. Jimmy Johnson reports.

The Carabao Cup Final returns to Wembley Stadium this month, bringing one of English football’s great showpiece occasions back to the capital (22 Mar).

With the semi-finals featuring Arsenal vs. Chelsea and Manchester City vs. Newcastle United, one London club is guaranteed a place under the arch – and the final promises drama, noise and a full-house atmosphere.

Should Arsenal reach Wembley (the semi-finals hadn’t been played by the time we went to press), expect Bukayo Saka to be central to their hopes, while Cole Palmer has already shown he thrives on big occasions for Chelsea. From the north, Erling Haaland remains Manchester City’s ultimate difference-maker, while Newcastle United will look to the authority and technique of Bruno Guimarães to drive a potential return to the national stadium.

This season’s competition has already delivered packed midweek nights, late goals and statement performances from clubs balancing domestic ambition with European campaigns – setting the stage for a memorable final.

Tickets will be sold directly via the competing clubs once finalists are confirmed. If you can’t secure a seat, Wembley Park’s pubs and fan zones provide an electric alternative, while stadium tours on non-matchdays offer behind-the-scenes access to England’s most iconic sporting venue.

Beyond Wembley, March is a lively month for live football across London. Premier League action continues throughout the capital, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Brentford all in action as the season enters its decisive final stretch, ensuring plenty of opportunities to catch top-flight football live or soak up the atmosphere in local pubs.

If tickets prove hard to get, there are also plenty of London-based lower-league clubs offering brilliant matchday experiences. Queens Park Rangers, at Loftus Road in west London, is easily reached via White City or Shepherd’s Bush Market Tube stations and offers a close-to-the-pitch atmosphere. In southeast London, Millwall play at The Den, accessible from South Bermondsey or Canada Water Tube stations, and are known for one of the capital’s most intense matchdays. Just outside the city, Elton John’s Watford provide an easy day trip to Vicarage Road, with fast trains from Euston to Watford Junction. All three offer a more intimate and authentic way to experience English football.

Football may dominate the headlines, but it’s far from the only game in town. UFC London traditionally returns to The O2 arena in March for a high-profile UFC Fight Night (21 Mar). The line-up features a mix of established stars and rising rivals – expect a sell-out crowd and an action-packed evening of entertainment.
