Luxury tea emporium Mariage Frères in Covent Garden has opened a terrace in time for afternoon tea week (10–16 Aug)
The tea shop Mariage Frères originated in Paris in 1854, and it now offers over 1,000 varieties of unique blends.
If you struggle to choose, a tea sommelier is on hand to guide you.
Its new terrace is shaded by canopies, making it ideal for alfresco dining.
If you’re too hot for tea, try a new iced tea cocktail such as the Gin Cactus Bleu. This blends gin with cactus, cucumber and thyme.
Like the drinks menu, afternoon tea comes with tea-infused treats such as croque Monsieur and mille feuille.
Mariage Frères is participating in the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme.
This means diners can benefit from 50 per cent off up to £10 per person. The scheme runs from Monday to Wednesday until 31 August.
